Want to experience the complexity of bus operations, and the rush of maintaining service levels in real time? Or want to join STC’s community in enjoying a relaxing (maybe?) night driving buses together?

Join us for the inaugural edition of the Bus Operations Simulation Exercise (BOSE), held in early September 2025, where we aim to simulate real-life bus operations, their complexities and unknowns in a controlled virtual environment. This exercise aims to further STC’s understanding of real-world bus operation challenges through a hands-on approach, and serve as a platform for the community to come together for a night of fun, while working to keep things running smoothly. The BOSE originates from past FSBC exercises (based on the browser game FrameSynthesis), but features more realism and complexity on a real-time multiplayer server!

Participants can now choose between two possible roles for this exercise. Operations Group participants will be charged with designing schedules for the exercise, and ensuring service standards are adhered to during the exercise itself.

The selected platform for hosting this BOSE is Sunshine Islands Bus Simulator on Roblox. As a Hong Kong-based game with layouts and structure familiar to Singapore-based players, it serves as a good introductory experience for both operations control and driving participants. Four routes (SIBS) have been selected for this exercise: 42A, 25, 140, U47. Communications during the exercise (and for pre-exercise sessions) will be conducted through our Discord server. Non-Roblox players can still participate as operations control for this BOSE.

Important!

To acquaint BOSE participants with SIBS game mechanics, routes, as well as to enable them to choose a wider variety of possible routes during the exercise, two familiarisation sessions will be held beforehand. Indicative dates and times are marked with a *. Attendance is not compulsory, but is strongly recommended, especially for non-SIBS players.

Do note that these sessions are designed to enable participants to level up to Level 10 in-game, enabling them to unlock Free Drive, granting them access to other level-locked routes used in this exercise.
