Make the change today!

2025 is a highly significant year for Singapore, and us here at STC. On the occasion of Singapore’s 60th birthday, and our fifth anniversary, we stand upon crossroads of great historical significance. With a URA Master Plan and Land Transport Master Plan set to be released towards the end of 2025, transport and urban planning developments this year will define the trajectory of our growth towards the middle of the century.

Closer to home, our fifth anniversary celebrations usher in a new era marked by a significant expansion of STC beyond mere online publication. With a transition to a more consultative, outreach-based and creative approach to our work in advocacy, the STC of the future requires greater capacity to execute a wider variety of projects and initiatives moving forward. At the same time, the Team also requires a more diverse talent pool to support these efforts in different directions, to adequately equip us for the road ahead. To truly move beyond a blog and transform into a community involved in transport matters, more hands on deck are needed, not just to drive us forward, but to also support the drivers of change too.

Who are we looking for?

Short answer — if you’re committed to driving positive change in local transport and urban planning, we want you! Better yet, if you’re someone who has ideas of what STC can achieve, come on in! We want to see what you can bring to us, and the wider STC community!

In slightly more formal terms, the Collective looks highly favourably upon esteemed individuals possessing some certain skill sets, as listed below:

  • Graphic design
    • STC’s projects and publications from the past, present and future inevitably require the insertion of infographics that help better explain things to would-be visitors. Where words fail to express adequately, a striking visual image puts the point across succinctly. And we humbly bend the knee for you to unleash your abilities to augment our content.
  • Video editing
    • At some point, STC will venture into the field of making videos, sooner or later. Capable of producing stunning animations to capture audience attention? Come on in!
  • Project management
    • The future of STC is likely to be one filled with more events, projects and initiatives. Do you work well with others in teams, and want the experience the thrill of watching your planned events and projects unfold before you? Join us and take the STC community to places like never before!
  • Game development*
    • What’s the next best thing you can have if the levers of power in the real world aren’t available? Virtual sandboxes of course, and that’s where we experiment and build models of what could possibly work for our transport and urban planning! Possess technical skills to configure game servers and keep them online? Welcome!
    • *Current sandbox-based games for consideration include Roblox and Minecraft, although we’d be interested to hear compelling cases for other potential platforms too.
  • Coding
    • To support STC’s research and outreach efforts, plans are underway for in-house app development. Are you a tech whiz with coding? Let’s roll.

Want to contribute in another field not mentioned above? Fret not, you can still apply too — we will consider every application, with the same aptitude you demonstrate!

As such, the door is wide open, wider than ever — applications to join the STC Team are open! Simply hop over to our Recruitment page and fill out the form!

While there is no closing date for applications (we welcome new people to join our Team anytime), we will give priority consideration to applications submitted by the 19th August, 2025. Sign up today, and we look forward to seeing you in our Team!
